Unlike typical riddles, these often carry eerie or unsettling themes that make you think in unexpected ways. I’m curious about the best approaches to solve dark riddles without losing the enjoyment in the process. 

Do certain strategies work better for these types compared to traditional riddles? Also, are there any recommended collections or sources where one can find high-quality dark riddles to practice?

I totally get what you mean. These types of puzzles are a whole different beast compared to standard riddles. I’ve found that the key to solving dark riddles is to embrace the unsettling or abstract themes rather than fight them. Try breaking the riddle into smaller parts, look for symbolic or metaphorical language, and don’t be afraid to think “outside the light,” so to speak. 

As for sources, I’d recommend checking out collections of gothic or horror-themed puzzle books, some online forums dedicated to riddles, and even mystery anthologies. Practicing with friends and discussing interpretations can also make them a lot more fun.
