KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 — KL police have crippled two drug packaging and distribution operations using private residences, seizing an assortment of narcotics worth RM3.8 million in six raids in Klang Valley last week.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Commissioner Datuk Fadil Marsus said a total of six syndicate members, including three foreign women, were arrested following intelligence gathered by the Kuala Lumpur Narcotics Criminal Investigation Departments and public cooperation.

The suspects, aged between 33 and 61, were detained separately in several locations from October 14 to 17.

“In total, 462,765 grammes (462 kilograms) of methylenedioxy-methamphetamine (MDMA) powder, better known as ecstasy, were seized from the suspects.”

Fadil said police also seized narcotics include ketamine, Erimin 5 pills, and cannabis flower in possession by the suspects.

“The narcotics seized could supply some 1.72 million users,” he told a press conference at the KL police contingent headquarters here.

He explained that the syndicates would use condominium units as storage facilities before conducting exchanges with customers in shopping mall parking lots.

Both syndicates have been active since February and September respectively.
