School stabbing case: Late Yap Shing Xuen to be cremated today

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 — The late Yap Shing Xuen, a 16-year-old student who died in a tragic incident at a secondary school in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, last Tuesday, will be laid to rest today.

Her body will be cremated at Nirvana Crematorium in Shah Alam, Selangor, following three days of prayers and tribute ceremonies that concluded last night.

The victim was found dead in the school restroom on October 14, and two sharp weapons believed to have been used in the stabbing were recovered at the scene.

Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail was previously reported as saying that a 14-year-old male student from the same school had been detained in connection with the case.
