Magnesium is an important mineral, playing a role in over 300 enzyme reactions in the human body. Its many functions include helping with muscle and nerve function, regulating blood pressure, and supporting the immune system.
An adult body contains around 25 gram (g) of magnesium, 50–60% of which the skeletal system stores. The rest is present in muscle, soft tissues, and bodily fluids.
Many people in the United States do not get enough magnesium in their diet, though deficiency symptoms are uncommon in otherwise healthy people.
Doctors link magnesium deficiency with a range of health complications, so people should aim to meet their daily recommended levels of magnesium.
Almonds, spinach, and cashew nuts are some of the foods highest in magnesium. If a person cannot get enough magnesium through their diet, their doctor may recommend taking supplements.
In this article, we look at the function and benefits of magnesium, what it does in the body, dietary sources, and possible health risks doctors link to too much.

Zinc is a nutrient that plays many vital roles in your body.
Because your body doesn’t naturally produce zinc, you must obtain it through food or supplements.
This article explains everything you need to know about zinc, including its functions, health benefits, dosage recommendations and potential side effects.
What Is Zinc?
Zinc is considered an essential nutrient, meaning that your body can’t produce or store it.
For this reason, you must get a constant supply through your diet.
Zinc is required for numerous processes in your body, including (1): - Gene expression
- Enzymatic reactions
- Immune function
- Protein synthesis
- DNA synthesis
- Wound healing
- Growth and development
Zinc is naturally found in a wide variety of both plant and animal foods.
Foods that don’t naturally contain this mineral, such as breakfast cereals, snack bars and baking flour, are often fortified with synthetic forms of zinc.
You can also take zinc supplements or multi-nutrient supplements that provide zinc.
Because of its role in immune function, zinc is likewise added to some nasal sprays, lozenges and other natural cold treatments.

Hong Kong (CNN Business)Huawei has been battered by a long US campaign against the company. Now it is hunkering down for survival by selling off its budget smartphone business.
A consortium of buyers said on Tuesday that it has acquired Huawei's Honor smartphone brand for an undisclosed amount of money. The buyers include more than 30 Chinese agents and dealers of the budget brand.
Huawei and the group of buyers said they struck the deal to help save Honor's supply chain, and protect consumers and sellers. The Trump administration has cut off the Chinese company's access to vital technology, such as chipsets and software for its smartphones and 5G telecommunications equipment. Washington says Huawei poses a national security threat, allegations the company has long denied.

Rosmah netted over half a billion dollars worth of fancy diamonds out of the money looted from 1MDB, as did senior figures in Abu Dhabi. And guess what: Prime Minister Najib authorised the entire heist from start to finish.
These are just some of the key takeaways from the latest scoop from Al Jazeera, who have obtained an exclusive update on the fugitive fixer Jho Low’s whereabouts, which includes several of his recorded confessions in which he points the finger at key suspects over 1MDB, as he sought to broker a deal to secure his freedom last year with the Malaysian authorities from the past government.
The story has been aired overnight in a documentary Jho Low: Hunt For A Fugitive by reporter Mary Ann Jolly.

The report confirms that Jho Low has been receiving high level Chinese protection, residing with his entourage in the Macau home of a senior member of the Communist Party.
It also reveals he has been travelling the world as late as November of last year, thanks to yet another of a series of island passports which appear to have been obtained through the company Henley & Partners – the latest being identified as having been issued in Grenada.

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 17 — Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Datuk Seri Azam Baki said that the anti-graft body is expecting an increase in corrupt practices and power abuse in Malaysia in the coming years.
He said this is due to the vulnerable and complex environment that Malaysia currently finds itself in, but did not elaborate further, according to a report by The Star today.
“With the Covid-19 pandemic impacting the domestic economy, the MACC will focus on reducing leakage of public money and the return of ill-gotten proceeds through the recovery of assets,” he said.
Azam added that checking on leakages is essential as the government spends billions annually on the procurement of goods and services.
